POSITION: Accountant Full Time, Permanent

SALARY RANGE: $70-75,000

The Grizzly Paw Brewing Company is a craft brewery and brewpub located in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. Situated in the town of Canmore, the Grizzly Paw Pub & Brewing Company has been in operation since 1996. Our brewing operations include a 20,000 square foot landmark brewery, a pub, restaurant, taproom, and event space.

We are looking for an outgoing and knowledgeable colleague who is willing to learn and ready to provide our customers with memorable experiences!

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Accountant is a key member of our Administration team and a trusted steward of the numbers that keep our brewery, two restaurants, and retail operations flowing smoothly. This role is perfect for someone who loves details as much as they love a well‑run operation, can make confident decisions, and enjoys being part of a collaborative, hands‑on environment.

You’ll be based out of our brewing facility but will need the flexibility to support all locations as required. Strong communication and relationship‑building skills are essential, as this role works closely with colleagues, customers, vendors, and government bodies. A sense of ownership, curiosity, and a good sense of humour will take you far here—after all, we work for a brewery.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements, including related reports and schedules
  • Prepare and post journal entries and complete balance sheet reconciliations
  • Maintain and monitor accounts receivable to ensure timely and accurate collections
  • Prepare and manage group function invoicing
  • Receive, record, and reconcile beer and soda payments, including direct payments and AGLC remittances
  • Perform banking activities, reconciliations, and accurate transaction recording
  • Review wholesale invoicing to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Prepare weekly and monthly management reports to support operational and strategic decisions
  • Assist with audit preparation, including gathering schedules and supporting documentation
  • Maintain clear, accurate records and a strong audit trail while following company policies and procedures
  • Provide support and training to accounting and administrative colleagues as required
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across all departments
  • Be ready and willing to work in a service‑oriented role, which may include direct interaction with customers, vendors, and external partners
  • Follow all required Health, Safety, Prevention, and Sanitation procedures at all times
  • Consider the environmental impact of decisions and support sustainable business practices
  • Pitch in on special projects and lend a hand wherever needed—because teamwork makes the beer taste better
  • Complete other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-2 years’ experience in accounting or related field
  • Extensive knowledge of the craft beer industry and a passion for all things beer.
  • Strong knowledge with a variety of software programs required: Microsoft Office, EKOS, Quickbooks, Toast, etc.
  • Degree or certification in Accounting or related discipline a strong asset
  • Detail oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong written and verbal communication abilities

THE PERKS!

  • Work for one of the largest (and OG) craft breweries in the province in a state of the art 20,000 sq./ft. facility (with sweet mountain views)
  • After work pints
  • Flexible schedule with option to regularly work from home and onsite
  • Work with an awesome team (we know every company says this… but we’re the real deal I promise)
  • Legendary staff parties & events throughout the year (ask about the Grizzly Paw Olympics)
