The Grizzly Paw Brewing Company is a craft brewery and brewpub located in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. Situated in the town of Canmore, the Grizzly Paw Pub & Brewing Company has been in operation since 1996. Our brewing operations include a 20,000 square foot landmark brewery, a pub, restaurant, taproom, and event space.

We are looking for an outgoing and knowledgeable colleague who is willing to learn and ready to provide our customers with memorable experiences!

Summary of Position:

This is a position for a detailed oriented individual, able to multitask and work unsupervised while being responsible for minor decision making and closing the restaurants after the manager has left.

Duties & Responsibilities:

● Training of new employees and guidance of other bartenders & service staff

● Monitor stock levels and facilitate ordering

● Work with leadership team to develop beverage program

● Consistently drive service improvement within the team

● Drive the team to keep a clean, tidy and effective working environment

● Application of discounts when other leaders are not present

● Handle guest complaints when other leaders are not present

● Work as a role model for other team members to aspire to be

● Demonstrate excellent product knowledge, while also having knowledge of our local area.

● Serving food and liquor responsibly, while providing guests with a pleasurable experience. Must be knowledgeable in our product as well as our brand, while also having knowledge of our local area.

● Perform daily tasks such as cleaning, stocking, organizing, and ordering.

● Ensuring the safety of our guests by verifying age and identification, responsible liquor serving.

● Ensuring the comfort of our guests by maintaining a pleasant atmosphere including temperature, lights, TV channels, music station & volume.

● Accurately prepare and serve all beverages, while taking orders and engaging bar patrons.

● Be familiar and personable to locals and our regular guests

● As the last face of the business, I must complete the building check before leaving. This includes the closing of the kitchen staff, patio, all internal space, external space, locks, & alarms.

● Ready and willing to work in a service role which may include direct contact with the public and or vendor representatives.

● Follow all required Health, Safety, Prevention & Sanitation procedures always

● Provide support and training to colleagues as required

● Maintain proper audit track records, follow company policies & procedures

● Develop and maintain close and effective working relationship with all supporting departments

● Consider the environmental impact of all decisions

● Complete other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

● Must be 18 years or older

● Position requires walking/standing for extended periods of time

● Position may require heavy lifting up to 160 lbs. (kegs, furniture, etc.)

● Strong hospitality experience in a fast-paced environment

● Must possess a current Proserve status

● Entry level Cicerone certification is an asset.

● Leadership skills

● Team player with a positive Attitude

● Strong Beer Culture Knowledge
