Accountant

POSITION: Accountant FT, Permanent 

Salary: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 per year, based on experience.

The Grizzly Paw Brewing Company is a Microbrewery and Pub located in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. With a focus on Micro-Brewed beer and hand made Sodas the company occupies a 20,000 square foot landmark building.

Reporting to the Controller, the Accountant is the point of contact for the administration team, supporting the brewery, 2 restaurants and 2 retail operations. This person will need to have strong administration skills, and the ability to make empowered decisions. This position will be based out of our brewing facility, but will be required to have the flexibility to carry out tasks at each location as required. Strong relationship skills are required, as this position will interact with customers, colleagues and government bodies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support the operations, accounting and management teams in their daily functions
• Assist in the preparation of the monthly financial statements, related reports and schedules
• Complete related monthly journal entries and reconciliations
• Assist operations departments by preparing weekly and monthly reports
• Banking operations, reconciliations and recordings
• GST and other monthly tax filings
• Assist the admin and management team in developing additional training documents
• Assist in preparation of audit documents
• Provide support and training to accounting staff as required
• Maintain proper audit track records, follow company policies & procedures
• Develop and maintain close and effective working relationships with all supporting departments
• Follow health & safety guidelines at all times
• Consider the environmental impact of all decisions
• Other duties and projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:

• 2-3 years’ experience in a supervisory role in accounting, finance or related field
• Knowledge of the craft beer industry and a passion for all things beer is an asset
• AGLC knowledge is an asset
• Ekos knowledge is an asset
• Strong knowledge with a variety of software programs required; Microsoft Office, Quickbooks Online, RM, etc.
• Degree or certification in Accounting or related discipline is a strong asset (CPA preferred)
• Detail oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong written and verbal communication abilities
