Reporting to the Brewery Hospitality Manager, the Assistant Manager - Tap Room is the support role for the brewery retail and tap room operations. This person will need to have strong customer service skills, a passion for excellence and the ability to make empowered decisions. This position will be based out of our brewing facility.

We are looking for an outgoing and knowledgeable colleague who is willing to learn and ready to provide our customers with memorable experiences!

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Lead and manage the taproom team and in all aspects of the department and ensure service standards are followed
  • Assist in planning and management of Grizzly BBQ in summer
  • To ensure training of Front of the House Colleagues is completed
  • Maximize revenues by communicating regularly with the Food and Beverage teams to implement agreed upon strategies, practices and promotions
  • Handle guest feedback and react quickly and professionally in person and online
  • Assist customers with inquiries, tastings, food & beverage service and brewery tours
  • Assist in special events planning & décor & set up
  • Collaborate with summer and winter merchandise line up development
  • Provide support and training for taproom associates
  • Generate wholesale invoices for internal sales related to beer and soda
  • Maintain merchandise and supplies orders for shop’s use
  • Assist with sales review & analysis, merchandising and promotions development
  • Maintain POS & software: Touch Bistro, ticket sales, Shopify, emails
  • Record monthly inventory
  • Drive leadership of tap room team including scheduling, performance management, reviews
  • Abide by all rules and regulations as set out bythe AGLC
  • Develop and maintain close and effective working relationship with all supporting departments
  • Follow health & safety guidelines at all time
  • Consider the environmental impact of all decisions
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

 Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Position requires walking/standing for extended periods of time
  • Position may require heavy lifting up to 160 lbs (kegs, furniture,)
  • Strong hospitality experience in a fast paced environment
  • Must possess a current Proserve status
  • Entry level Cicerone certification an asset
  • Passion for Craft beer and hospitality industry
  • Previous Restaurant leadership experience required
  • Experience in Banquet and Event Planning is an asset
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required
  • University/College degree in a related discipline preferred
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced team environment
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
