POSITION: Brewery Operations Manager

The Grizzly Paw is a craft brewery and hospitality company located in Canmore, AB at the heart of the Canadian Rockies since 1996.  We are fiercely committed to our guests, colleagues, community and environment by crafting fresh food, a dynamic beer selection, locally made soda and engaging experiences. 

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Brewery Operations Manager is responsible for the daily performance of brewing and warehouse colleagues along with the quality control of beer, RTD and soda. This is a senior leadership role within the company and will be involved with the ongoing strategic development of the brand.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Production planning for brewing and warehouse operations
  • Inventory management and ongoing procurement of ingredients and supplies
  • Recruitment, leadership and development of colleagues
  • Management of ongoing quality control processes and documentation for beer and soda
  • Assist the Lead Brewer with the consistent production of all beer, RTD and soda brands along with the development of our innovative seasonal beer program
  • Assist with packaging, delivery, inventory and shipping according to business volumes
  • Ensure company standard operating procedures are adhered to consistently
  • Upkeep and preventative maintenance of related equipment and facilities
  • Must be an ambassador for the brand and participate in media and promotional events
  • Ongoing financial reporting including inventory, cost of goods and labor cost
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces, hot and cold environments
  • Abide by all rules and regulations set out by the AGLC, CFIA, OHSA, etc.
  • Maintain proper audit track records, follow company policies & procedures
  • Develop and maintain close and effective working relationships with supporting departments
  • Follow health, safety, prevention and sanitation guidelines at all times
  • Consider the environmental impact in all decisions
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a variety of brewing operations
  • Minimum of 3 years in a leadership capacity with direct reporting colleagues
  • A degree or equivalent from a recognized brewing educational institute
  • Mechanically inclined with a solid understanding of process management
  • Experience in the hospitality industry an asset
  • A valid drivers license is required,
  • Be able to reach, bend, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be eligible to legally work in Canada.
